ALL Lives Matter!

As an elementary educator, I believe that the best education possible is important in a child’s life and setting to tone to become a life learner is key. It is my job to instill these qualities while they are young and prepare them for the future to come in an environment that is inclusive and safe.
My instructional strategies include:
Facilitation style of teaching where the students get to have good open and interactive dialogue with their fellow classmates. Our classroom will
Use Technology – To be connected to everything. Current events, other students around the whole, scientific information, an audience to share data with technology education are endless. Technology is a great tool to have in the classroom.
Group Discussion: are a great way for students to ask questions and learned from each other. Having open dialogue helps other students who may be shy to respond and to build on communication skills.
Individualized Instruction: Working with each student on an individualize bases. This help students who may need additional help or exceling with classroom lessons. This strategy is also a good way to get to know the student and touch-bases on what is happening in their life.

Differentiated Instruction: Provide additional support to my students who are more visual, auditory or kinesthetic learners. Special instruction will be to fit all learners needs based on how they learn.

Some formative assessments I like to use are as follows:

Observation: is an excellent way to walk around and observe and listen to the academic learning of all students. It gives me an opportunity to have quick conferences and answer any questions a student may have at that time.
Say Something: allows a student to take a leadership role in a cooperative group and report out on the findings. This help with social skills, communication skills and being a leader.

Exit Cards: This is a good strategy to use because you get to share something that you learned during that day’s session. It also allows other students to hear the information you learned and may spark something in them to think about. I believe it is a fun way to end the class.
3-2-1: Student get to answer, 3 things they found out, 2 interesting things, and 1 question they still have after the lecture. This helps them to gain a better understanding of the materials and to ask their own questions for clarity.
