Classroom Rules

Classroom Management is a system that is based on letting the student know upfront about the expectations and rules are in the classroom.  Many theorists have looked at this differently and the ones I connect with include is behaviorist B.F. Skinner.  His works was genius based on conditioning with and without a stimulus. According to the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy Behaviorism, also known as behavioral psychology is a theory of learning based on the idea that all behaviors are acquired through conditioning. Conditioning occurs through interaction with the environment. Behaviorists believe that our responses to environmental stimuli shape our behaviors. http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/behaviorism/

I believe the background of my students will play a factor in the classroom.  However, I plan to condition them to with consistency to understand and the difference between home and school and how there is a time to play and a time to work hard for our education.

Classroom Rules will be established and discussed that is student-centered and guided by the Illinois State social and emotional standards versus it being all about what I as the teacher want.  It will be our classroom, we will be in partnership.

My other inspiration is Maria Montessori who focuses on the human development approach is so powerful.  Montessori was all things natural.  Her approach is all about child-centered (student-centered) and the environment that was inclusive of all cultures.

This philosophy goes well with the Constructivism in the Classroom a theory based on the student having control over their learning and always keeping in line with the Illinois State Standards.
